A Credit Card for my Son

Facilitator for Fees and Bills

I think it is time for my son to have one of those plastic money.

If at all he needs one, it is definitely now as we have college bills to pay and currently we are owing the university about less than RM2K outstanding.

With this plastic thingy, he can sort out the money owing and facilitate fee payments whenever he needs to.

So, I went to the RHB SS2 branch two days ago and applied for the supplementary card.

The officer told me he will call me in about 14 working day as the card should arrive by  then.

So until that appoinrd time, I would have to use my card for any payments with the college.

Digi.com-Summit Pursuit

Ever-moving
The reasons for Digi.com to move up with traction for two days?

There is still no news on the horizon.

Today, it has moved as high as RM5.44 for a 12 sen gain.

It is now hovering at the RM5.43-RM5.44 price tussle.

Best in its Class
Perhaps, it is the implementation of the liberalisation move where Telenor can now take more than 49% of Digi.com or it could be the special distribution to shareholders of the value accruing from the share premium from its subsidiary.

Even, maybe EPF coming to churn up the counter.

You know, they can be seen  buying and selling on the same counter on the same day. Is this to generate activity to give false pretense?

Either way, the counter is moving up.

Let us watch how it will move especially with the volume that is still moving up.

Cry, the Beloved Country

The Meritocracy Nation
They say that people will go where they are most valued.
They say that they want a country that will treat them fair
They would love to live in a country where merit is given its place
They say they want a country that is peaceful.
They say that people will look for self-actualization
They say that people will go where they are more appreciated.
They say they want a land that has respect for law and order.
They say that people are looking for a level playing field
They say that people do not like to live in a place where they keep on changing the goal-posts.
They say that they do not want a country full of political extremists.
They say that people do not want to live in a place where corruption is rampant.
They say that water will find its own level.
They are looking for an equalizer.
They have found it!

Better Life-style
And so able Malaysians are going away to seek their fame and fortune in other lands as their beloved homeland has no longer any hope for them.

Just look at the data been trotted out by none other than the World Bank.

A Welcoming Democracy
As of last year, the number of skilled Malaysians living and working abroad has tripled in the last 20 years.

For every 10 trained Malaysians at the tertiary level, 2 has packed up and left for better places for work outside Malaysia.

Cosmopolitan London Beckons
Their favoured destinations are:

54% has gone across the Causeway to grow the Singaporean economy.

15% has left for Australia to enjoy a better way of life.

10% has flown into the US to enjoy better democracy; and

5% is now in the UK blending profitably in their cosmopolitan cities

And what have we to show?

Lowly educated Indonesians, Nepalese, Vietnamese, mainland Chinese and Myamarese.

And yes, expect more Bangladeshis as they are going to be a source country for cheap labour!

Welcome, brothers of the taka!

For fellow Malaysians----Cry the beloved country!

BJFoods Awakes Again?

Seattle Wunderkind!
Is it because there is some good news that the company intends to go public with on 9th October in conjunction with its AGM?

Possibly. Is it about the KRR operations or will it be focused especially on Starbucks?

No, can tell.

A Sumptuous Platter
I believe that it could be another franchise that will be taken over under the wings of BJFoods. If so, how are we going to pay for it?  Also, is this acquisition adding value to the group? Will it be through a cash call which is too soon or perhaps through a paper-swap.

Possibly, the latter.

And the candidate?

Is it Krespy Kreme which may need cash for expansion to Penang, Johore Bahru, Kuantan and Ipoh; as well as to Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.

There is also Wendy's and Papa John to consider as well.

Roasters Galore!!
What is the net positive value contribution to the current portfolio?

With just organic growth, I do not expect a great re-rating of this counter though it has moved up quickly to 6 sen today and has gained traction at this price though it has not got over this tug-of -war price tussle of RM1.24-RM1.25 up to this moment of writing. As for the warrants, it went up to to 55.5 sen for a 4.5 sen gain. PS: It just broke through to RM1.28. Now, it is trading at off-best RM1.26.

Perhaps by next Tuesday we will know the news. So need a little patience...lah....
