FGV-Defying Gravity

Floating Mammoth?
Yes, it does look like it-above the surface and below it as well.

Like Facebook, I would see gravity working as sellers will come out of the woodwork when they see their value shrinking with each weakening bid.

It has touched the raw nerve of the psychological mind dipping below RM5.00. Fear is the Key!

So how long will it endure?

Maybe a longer until the elections are announced and then it might plumb down below RM5 again.

You just cannot defy gravity even if you are cash-rich because there is always the opportunity cost and losing something more worthwhile with that ringgit.

Finally, the EPF, The Pension funds and the other funds supporting FGV will have to pay......

Who are the Buyers of BJF Now?

Can Starbucks add an upwardly sprightly price?
For one, this is a much dreaded counter in terms of quantity turnover.

For days the bids stay almost in comatose.

Then it will get up from the Rip Van Winkle mode and fly a bit before dozing off.

Reason being?

Only about 18% of the shares are in free float.

So, given today's situation while we are waiting for the new rights to be announced particularly the subscription rate and also balloting policy for the excess applications (6 August), who are these buyers who are pawing down the prices day after day?

The new rights will be traded beginning 13 August.

Until then, the number of shares in BJF remains the same.

So, who are these buyers?

Opportunistic will be the word to describe them.

They could possibly be those who sold earlier at higher prices and want their shares back and those in alliance with any mop-up mission by Vincent and gang.

Will the price maintained traction on 13th August?

May be that is why the sellers are lining up to sell?

Jessica-A Mexican Affair

Youth, Beauty and Emotions

They have confessed that they are in a lovey-dovey relationship.

Both are young and pretty and they are out for love and in the process will  experience the emotional dimensions of a relationship-good,bad, bitter and sweet.

We wish Jessica and DeAndre well.

Lunch at the Kuriya Japanese Restaurant

Average Japanese fare

Well, this is the fourth  time that  I have gone to Bangsar Shopping Centre  in the last two years.

Bangsar Shopping Centre is good because of the good food served in Monte's as well as notorious because of the death of Canny Ong who had her last dinner before she was abducted at the car-park and murdered.

Anyway, the reason we were there today was to taste the Japanese food at Kuriya Japanese Restaurant.

The ambiance was ordinary.

We ordered a platter called the executive set and another set  with a bowl of beef strips and vegetables.

The sashimi of salmon, tuna and another fish was fresh and good. The vegetable tempura was so-so.

We found the unagi to our liking and so was the beef in a tasty vinegar soy-base soup.

The best was the really fine cawan mushi.

Our side order of garlic rice was a change from the ordinary. Not salty and  much to my liking too.

With the executive platter came the coffee and a desert. Coffee came in small cups-taste like Nescafe.

Yes, like most restaurants, Japanese tea was on the house and free-flowing.

The meal cost us almost RM160 for three.

Quite good and filling too.
