Pedestrian Haven

The Welcoming Pedestrian Walk

Air conditioned Comfort

Now, you can walk almost in air conditioned comfort atop the Kuala Lumpur streets.

From 28 January the entire stretch of the Bukit Bintang-KL Convention Centre Pedestrian Walk has been opened.

Beginning at the apron entry at Pavilion Shopping Mall facing the Novotel, start walking into the walk. No, that part of the walk is not air-conditioned, is dusty and you can still smell the street vehicle fumes blowing up into the inner recess of the walk structure.

After that, the air condition kicks in and the walk becomes more pleasurable. A brisk walk takes about 7 minutes while a leisurely one will probably take 10 minutes.

There is a junction to the Raja Chulan Monorail Station as well one at Impiana Hotel in Jalan Pinang. After then you get out at KLCC Convention Centre near Aquaria. Foreigners working as security guards are seen on the walk to add that security and safety air to users.

Be prepared for a blistering 6 minutes walk through KLCC in air conditioned comfort. You will need about 20 minutes to get from Pavilion to the LRT Station at KLCC.

I think this walk is an asset to KL as a city and should have been built many, many moons ago. The people and tourists to KL deserves such a facility.
