Yes, it truly shows that the recession is biting down hard this third quarter of 2009. Even the Raya celebrations has not be spared. I went to three supermarkets. What did I find? The first one in Kelana Jaya had no decorations at all. The other one selling furniture had only one discernible type of decoration of the 'hanging ketupats'. There was nothing to show in the other supermarkets in Mutiara Damansara.
Even the hampers stall looks quietly scarce. Were the rest sent out already?
However, they did play Hari Raya songs to ensure there is some token semblance of the coming festivity.
Recession must really be hard on the supermarkets these days and not only on us poor folks!
