MCA: What are Your Principles?

Embattled MCA President Ong Tee Kiat , in a rejoinder to PM Najib's comment that MCA must find not only a legally correct solution but also a morally and politically acceptable one, said his call for fresh polls points exactly in that direction.

He added, MCA desperately needs leaders who have the mandate of the members. Not having fresh new elections will allow certain leaders to take a shortcut to the top, thereby unfairly boosting their political careers.

At this juncture of his political career, Ong is increasingly alone in the party’s top ranks after losing a vote of no-confidence against his leadership in an EGM on Oct 10.

Three days ago, MCA’s central committee pressured him to resign but he refused to do so. Instead, he called for a second EGM to vote on whether to hold fresh elections or to endorse the leadership led by him.

So what do we have in MCA?

Do we have leaders of principles or are the unscrupulous going to rule the roost at MCA?

The way I see it, MCA is spiraling into a black hole. It will stay in the dark void if it continues to have leaders who are morally corrupted and cannot face defeat in the face!

Lindsay Lohan-Spiralling out of Control

Lindsay Lohan, one of the most charming and promising starlets to come out of Hollywood is in a bind these days. Her acting career seems to be going nowhere and the albatross of a probation for a series of misdemeanors still hangs around her neck.

At the court yesterday, the judge extended her probation for drunken driving and other criminal charges for yet one more year. She was told by the court to get serious about her alcohol education programme and to complete it as soon as possible.

It was in August 2007, that the “Mean Girls” actress was ordered to complete an 18-month alcohol education programme. Prior to that, Lindsay served 24 hours in jail and perform 10 days of community service. Her sentence was 36 months’ probation for drunk driving, reckless driving and driving under the influence of cocaine.

The actress, who gained fame as a child star of Disney movies especially the runaway hit film, "The Parent Trap", saw her life spiral out of control as a young adult.

I like the looks of Lindsay. I saw promise in the precocious roles she played. She was acting fine in 'Mean Girls'. However, her recent movies were all B-graders. They fell by the way.

Is there a future still for Lindsay?
