Epic- Symbiotic Relationship with Nature

Engaging Film
A favourite premise these days is the symbiosis between man and nature.

In Epic, it ties even the hidden fictional Leaf People to the destiny and future of mankind.

As the story goes, the Leaf people were attacked by the bat-like creatures led by their nemesis, Mandrake, bent of killing off the Leaf people. Actually, Mandrake's flying armies look very much like those morbid   zombie-warriors of Lord of the Rings.

After fatally wounding the Queen of the Leaf People, Mandrake suddenly faced  a hostile defense force led by a young girl called Mary Katherine who was visiting her absent-minded scientist father.

As with most animated feature, we have the side-shows in the form of two lovable slugs.

It features the voice of Beyonce, Colin Farell and Amanda Seyfried.

Fair outing and the special effects and colours are vividly beautiful.

The Ethics of Life

What a summation!

Truism

Wise Words and Fear Not!

Yes, there is nothing to fear except fear itself!

This is another good way to look at fear.

No Bondurant Invincibility Here

Bloodthirsty Outing
It is the years of the Prohibition period and bootleggers abound.

While Chicago has its own story to tell, in Franklin County there is also vile corruption as the government law enforcers take a cut on the takings of the country bumpkin moonshiners. Only the Bondurant Brothers dared to stand in their way!

Expect absolute violence here.

As Maggie
This movie is more gripping here as compared to Tom Hank's outing in  Road to Perdition.

It stars Shia Lebouef of Transformers fame as Jack Bondurant,  Tom Hardy as Forrest and  Jason Clark as Howard.

If there is a tale of invincibility of the Bondurant borthers, it is not there even though this is based on a true story.  Forrest who endured a nasty cut to his throat and a multitude of bullets was to perish  of pneumonia instead.

Jessica Chastain played a major part here as Forrest's love interest.

Frightening real especially the cut-throat scene!

Death Defying Long Kiss Goodnight

Violence Unleashed
So what does : The Long Kiss Goodnight" really means?

Actually it is an euphemism for death.

Blondie Transformation
So, in this movie, it is Samantha saying goodbye forever to Charlene Elizabeth Baltimore the killer operative of the CIA forever.

The movie is very tightly edited and does not pull any punches where violence is concerned.

Gorgeous Sharpshooter
I think Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson has screen chemistry to pull off this movie as one of the most memorable hits of all time.

Twice the action!
Great movie, great actress. Have fun!

A Tourist By Default

Truly Refreshing!
An accidental tourist is one that turns tourist by accident as he is oftentimes a businessman on the move. So, in this movie, the protagonist is a writer of tourist guidebooks for such businessmen to make the best use of their time and opportunity overseas or on out of town trips.

Captivating Throughout!
Much depressed after his son’s death, Macon (William Hurt) the writer could not get over it as he was still in the 'Leary comfort groove' with his brothers and sister. Only after his wife,  Sarah (Kathleen Turner) separated from him, that he became much aware that he must have closure and he sought the solace of Muriel, an animal hospital employee.

The movie was great, the dialogue biting and the twists and turn keeps you waiting for what will really happened. Totally unpredictable but you know that you are in for a great finish!

Grace in Defeat
The music is superb!

The best scene is when the cab which Muriel is hailing stops right in front of her. Thinking so that the taxi is meant for her, she could not but helped catching sight of Macon in the cab. Their eyes met and their smiles sum it all up!

And Geena Davis deserves her Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress of 1988.

Mayhem in the Big Apple

Action Station
The premise,?

Loki-Thor's Asgard half brother takes on the world with some aliens.

To save planet earth, The Avengers have to be arrayed against them.

From Nick Fury, Captain America, The Hulk (David Banner), Black Widow (Natasha Ramanof)), Ironman (Tony Stark), Clint Barton, the members of the super-hero league called the SHIELD battled these monsters laying waste to New York and the populace.

Absolute Charm
Plenty of action and special effects but as usual weak on story-line.

Providing the eye candy is the ever beautiful Scarlett Johanssen, newcomer Cobie Smulders as well as Gwyneth Palthrow in the role of Pepper Potts.

Cobie
Good for an afternoon session before taking a nap.
